Looking up at the Library

The Sanbornton Public Library is in the historic Woodman Academy, which was established in 1826. Although the addition project in 2005-2006 expanded the building, the original charm and character has been retained, making our library a beautiful, vibrant and peaceful place to visit.

Our Mission Statement

To provide, develop, promote, and make available library services, programs, and materials necessary to meet the educational, informational, recreational, and cultural needs of the community today and in the future.

Inside, you will find what you would expect of a public library.
Book collections include:

  • New Arrivals, DVDs, Audio books, and magazines in the Cafe near the circulation desk
  • Children’s Collection in the new side of the building
  • Young Adult collection is in the room off to the side of the kid’s area
  • Main Collection is found in the new side of the building, encompassing the non-fiction, fiction, and biography collections.
  • We offer 3 public computer stations with printing capabilities.
  • Free WiFi throughout the building and outside in the parking area. Connect to SPL_Public
  • WiFi Printing: Connect to our WiFi and find our Brother printer to print from your phone or laptop

We do have a small collection of large print books.  The collection is on a mobile cart donated to honor the memory of Mrs. Arlene Stanton, the beloved aunt of The Harrison Family.  One of the librarians will be happy to bring the cart to you.

For historians and genealogy buffs, the NH Room houses a collection of books on the history of Sanbornton and New Hampshire.

If you haven’t come in to the Sanbornton library any time recently, be sure to pay a visit. You’ll be surprised at the light, open lay out, and gratified by the resources that are available to you for no cost.
